Siblings....

I always wanted one... :-)

Yeah... I am a singlet and I realised(rather I can say repented) that I missed on so many things being the only son to your parents.I happened to share my feelings about this to my parents sometime back and they hit back on me saying "Swalpa late aaythu neen heLiddu" ;-)

Ok... now I will try to put some advantages and disadvantages of being the one and only child.

Advantages...

  • You will get all the pamperings and praises for whatever you do at home(Incidentally my parents were not so liberal :-))

  • Can use this dialogue often to escape from your mistakes "iradu nan obne maga anta nim sittanella nan mele teeristeera"(I happened to discover this dialogue after I became mature enough not to use that kind of sentences with my parents on a serious note ;-))

  • You can single handedly inherit, enjoy, destroy all the wealth they would have earned by saving their nickels and dimes.

  • Added advantage when your parents are looking out for a fiancee for you... ;-)(Not very sure whether to add this in the advantages list or the disadvantages list... Can differ from person to person)

May more... Can't remember everything...

Disadvantages...

  • Lots of indirect parental pressure in the form of expectations... Be it on Acedamic front or any other areas.

  • Too much monitoring(I can also call spying) till you reach certain stage(in their words "settle aago tanaka")

  • You can socialize with persons of your age of the same gender easily in the school... But will miss out with the opposite gender...(This goes without saying that I was kind of shy/reserved guy till I joined Engineering) Which will inturn lead in future times when you get an opportunity to socialize with them... to that GOLDEN SENTENCE which Linda Goodman has told about me... :-). Sorry if this kinda felt cryptic in nature(It was meant to be.. ;-))

  • I am not very sure how it feels to have a friendly fight with your siblings... People say they enjoy it... I never felt it... :-(

  • You can never feel the emotion which other people(having siblings) feel when their sister leaves home after getting married... :-(

  • You won't have anyone to speak your heart out... ANYTHING and EVERYTHING :-(
You would love to make arrangements for your sis's marriage, take responsibilities, make it a dream come true for her on that day... Alas... Get one... first LOSER... before even thinking of it...

  • You done have anyone to call up in case you need some help which you can't tell to your parents or to your sister(I am hinting towards a Brother-preferably elder)

Well... I can go on and on and on.... But i think its enough... Long time since I wanted to write about this...

BOTTOM LINE:
LOVE your siblings... coz... I* don't even have them to HATE...

*People like me

My self and my sister are twins. But we are totally opposite in nature. We always fight, shout at each other. Sometimes I use to think she doesn't really like me.
But when I left home for a job in bangalore, that night she cried alot that i am leaving. That day i came to know how much she loves me. Yes..... Having sibblings is a gift.
